Things I've Done...

I know I haven't written in a while but I am going to post some of the stuff I have been doing in the mean time.... For some reason uploading pictures is always so difficult so I'll see what I can do.

Bad News

There is a bad thing about working at a family owned business. If one of their old friends wants to come back and work for the summer they get the job and you get booted. So now I'm back in the market for a job. Oh well.

To tell you the truth, I'm really torn up about it. I thought I would be working there for a long time. I know that I didn't do anything wrong to have lost my job, its just unfair favoritism.

So anyone who wanted to come see me at work better cancel their visits.

new things

Ok so yes it has been forever since I have written. Today is a day off from work, which brings me to my first new thing! I got a job at a gourmet doughnut and pastry shop. I was hired on as the pastry chef and am in charge of the pastry case! Can you tell I'm excited? Its because I am! I love my job. I've been working there just over a month and am starting to work on new items for the case. I'm thinking Lemon Bars and Lime Bars for the season and maybe some big Cream Puffs for when my mom comes in town. We already have a lot of items that do pretty well like, naughty bars (they really are naughty because they are addicting!), frosted chocolate and mint brownies, ham and cheese croissants, raspberry and cream cheese croissants, strawberry and cream cheese croissants, chocolate croissants, scones and sugar cookies that I hand decorate.

Anyone getting a craving yet?

Ok so I love my job!

Next new thing...

My hubby and I moved into a new apt! Yay! Now we live closer to SLC and we live not with the in-laws. Don't get me wrong, I love my in-laws but as a newly wed I just want to spend time alone with my husband ;)

Next really new thing....

We got a new pet! He is a Leopard Gecko and his name is Toothless (like from How to Train Your Dragon). I love him. and he's pretty easy to take care of. And I like being able to hold him, rather than our two tarantulas. Yes I know that I can hold them but they have the ability to bite and hurt me. Toothless can bite but it won't hurt :)

Job!

Hello to all 2 of my followers!

I'm sure the both of you already know this but I am now an official Pastry Chef! I was hired at Beyond Glaze in Draper, UT and I will be in charge of one of the pastry counters. I start on the 30th and I'm so excited and nervous its crazy! Wish me luck!

Hello Blog!

For my first post I am going to write a little about myself.

I am Courtney P. I am 21 years old. I am a newlywed as of January 16, 2010. I will be graduating from Le Cordon Bleu, Las Vegas, in the Baking and Pastry program on March 6th, 2010. As you can see this year has been a great year for me.

This coming weekend I will be moving back to Utah and will start to look for a job as a cake decorator. In this blog I will show some of my work and will write my story. Hopefully, I will be an interesting read. If not that's ok because I know that there are people that are much more interesting than me. We will see...
